Mimi is long-term resident of Ward 7, having first moved to Alberta Avenue in 1994. She is a writer, journalist, community advocate and volunteer, with an educational background in political science and municipal governance. 

Her record of service to the community includes helping to found Edmonton's School Lunch Program, serving on the Boards of the Alberta Avenue Community League and Avenue Revitalization, and committing time towards Edmonton's Block Parent and Neighbourhood Watch programs, HIV Edmonton, the Christmas Bureau, Diabetes Canada, Women's March Against Poverty and more.

Mimi works as a freelance journalist and consultant to non-profit organizations in the areas of fund development and organization.

She believes the best decisions are made by listening to those most affected by them
